The concentration range in soil is between 1 and 300mg\/kg, in sea water 5 to 800\u00b5g\/liter, and in rivers &amp; lakes 26\u00b5g\/liter.<\/li><li>Chromium is mined as Chromite (FeCr<span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 0; position: relative; vertical-align: baseline; bottom: -0.25em;\">2<\/span>O<span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 0; position: relative; vertical-align: baseline; bottom: -0.25em;\">4<\/span>) ore.<\/li><li>It is a steely-gray, lustrous, hard &amp; brittle metal, which takes a high polish, resists tarnishing, and has a high melting point.<\/li><li>Chromium, unlike metals such as iron &amp; nickel, does not suffer from Hydrogen Embrittlement.
