- It occurs as native Copper ore in minerals such as:
- Copper Sulfides Chalcopyrite (CuFeS2); Chalcocite (Cu2S)
- Copper carbonates Azurite & Malachite
- Copper (I) Oxide mineral cuprite.
- It is a ductile metal with very high thermal & electrical conductivity.
- Pure copper is soft & malleable.
- The alloy of 90% copper & 10% Nickel is remarkable for its resistance to corrosion & is used in various parts that are exposed to seawater.
- Copper with Aluminium (about 7%) have pleasant golden color.
- Copper are used in Electrical Wires (60%), roofing & plumbing (20%), and Industrial Machinery (15%).
- Copper plating & copper sheathing was widespread.
- Roofs, flashing, rain gutters, downspouts, domes, spires, vaults & door.
- Used also Radio Frequency Shielding & antibacterial.
